Welcome to the Lemster Dickens Festival, a unique Victorian winter event held in the historic centre of Lemmer, the Netherlands.

Theme
The 2026 theme is "Dickens Tells".
Throughout the village, the famous stories of Charles Dickens come to life. Meet characters from Oliver Twist, David Copperfield, A Christmas Carol and many other well-known novels.

What to expect
Stroll through beautifully decorated streets, narrow alleys and historic squares, all transformed into Victorian England. Along the route you will encounter actors and hundreds of costumed participants, enjoy live music, street theatre, choirs and performances, browse the Christmas market and warm up with traditional winter treats such as hot chocolate and mulled wine.

Children (4–12 years): €4.00 online / €5.00 at the ticket office

Adults: €6.00 online / €7.00 at the ticket office
For online orders, a €0.35 service fee per transaction applies.
Tickets can be purchased in advance through this website or at one of the ticket offices at the festival entrances. We recommend buying your tickets online to avoid waiting times.
Choosing your visit

Tickets are valid for one day only.

You may choose whether to visit on Saturday 12 December or Sunday 13 December 2026.

When ordering online, you can select the entry time slot that suits you best.

Once you have entered the festival, you are welcome to stay as long as you wish.
Parking
Follow the Dickens parking signs to one of the designated parking areas around Lemmer. Parking is free (except for the Albert Heijn parking garage). Heated shuttle buses run continuously between the parking areas and the festival entrance for a small voluntary contribution.
